Senco FinishPRO 21LXP Micro Pinner (21 Gauge Nailer)

If you are in the market for a finish nailer and you aren’t quite sure what gauge you’ll need (18,21 or 23 for example) or how strong each gauge will hold up for whatever job you may be trying to complete, here’s some interesting tips to consider…

  • The 18 gauge is your typical size nailer, and upon completion of getting all your nails into the quarter round or you are installing lets say.. you find yourself filling in the holes or sanding down the trim.
  • The 21 gauge nailer provides a comparable amount of power with little clean up afterwards, providing ease and minimizing the amount of time you spend making it look like you never installed the trim with a nail in the first place.
  • The 23 gauge nailer while even smaller, just does not seem to pack the punch you need in order to get the job done and have it last for years to come

Some Senco FinishPro Specs Include:

  • Holds up to 200 nails at one time
  • Weighs in at a little over 2.5 lbs. We had guessed 3lbs, but per Senco’s website this finisher weighs 2.7lbs
  • Senco offers a 5 year warranty
  • Operating Pressure: 70 – 120 (PSI)
  • Operating Pressure: 4.8 – 8.3 (Bar)
  • Air Consumption: 1.2 (SCFM)
  • Range: 5/8″ – 2″

Recently, we installed laminate flooring in a rental home and got the opportunity to put the Senco FinishPro 21LXP Micro Pinner to the test. We found this finshing nailer was pretty quiet, which was great being that we were installing this flooring in a townhouse that we rent out.

In this video we demonstrate the nailer in action using the Senco air compressor at 100psi, seeing how many nails it will take before the compressor kicks back on to using the finishing nailer to install some quarter round.   Looking up close at the quarter round upon completion, we could hardly tell that a nail was just used to install the quarter round, take a look at our video review and you can see what we are talking about!
